Classroom Floater
CHMS is seeking a Classroom Floater for all programs (toddler, primary, and elementary). Ideal candidates possess a B.A. in education or a related field and have prior teaching experience with children ages 18 months to 10 years old. Prior Montessori experience is not required but is preferred. This position requires an understanding of young children and will be responsible for establishing a positive, encouraging, appropriate relationship with students. They will work with other teachers and staff as a contributing team member to present a cooperative and positive work environment and are expected to follow best practices while working collaboratively in a professional Montessori community. Warmth, calmness, and professionalism in daily interactions is essential.
This position is ideally Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays to be determined. The floater provides essential coverage to classrooms throughout the day, as well as supports before and aftercare programs. The pay is $20-22/hour based on experience, plus the monthly Salary Supplement through the State of Maine. Please submit a cover letter, resume and three references to director@camdenmontessori.org.
Substitute Teachers
